Who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how Sketro Pty Ltd (ABN 41 635 858 589), trading as Total Dance ("we", "us" and "our"), collects, uses and discloses your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from totaldance.com.au or totaldance.co.nz (the "Site"), visit us in store, or contact us. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

Order and contact details. When you place an order or contact us we collect your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number and details of the items you buy. We need these to process your order, arrange delivery, provide receipts and help you with support, returns and credits.

Payment information. Payments are processed by our payment providers: Shopify Payments (including Shop Pay), PayPal and Afterpay. Your payment details go to the provider you choose at checkout; we never see or store your full card number.

Account information. If you create an account we store your login email and your order history.

Device and usage information. When you browse the Site we automatically collect limited information about your device and visit (IP address, browser type, pages viewed and how you reached us) using cookies and similar technologies. See Cookies and analytics below.

How we use your information

We use personal information to fulfil and deliver your orders, send order and shipping notifications, provide customer service, process returns and store credits, keep business records we are required to keep by law, improve the Site and our range, and protect against fraudulent transactions. With your consent, or where otherwise permitted, we send marketing emails; every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link and you can leave the list at any time.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the store, and only what each needs to do its job:

Shopify, which hosts our store and processes orders. Payment providers: Shopify Payments (including Shop Pay), PayPal and Afterpay. Delivery partners: Australia Post and our couriers. Klaviyo, which sends our emails. Judge.me, which sends verified-purchase review invitations and hosts product reviews. Google Analytics, which helps us understand how the Site is used.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose personal information where required or authorised by law.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies keep your cart and login working and help us understand how the Site is used, through Google Analytics and Shopify's own analytics. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings, although blocking some cookies may stop checkout from working. You can opt out of Google Analytics at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers, including Shopify, Google, Klaviyo and Judge.me, store information outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas providers handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes above and to meet our legal obligations, such as tax record keeping, and then delete or de-identify it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including using a secure hosted platform and limiting who can access order data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

We sell dancewear in children's sizes, but orders must be placed by an adult. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing info@totaldance.com.au. If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au. If you are in New Zealand, you may also have rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at www.privacy.org.nz.
